From 2017 on I am a member of board for licensing of tourist guides at Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism Bled. I have written the curriculum for the guiding skills and general knowledge educational part of the licensing.

ACHIVEMENTS AND IMPACT:

  •  Tourist guides – Ambassadors of Responsible tourism – WORKSHOP at ITB Berlin Travel Festival
  • Lead partner and author of Code of conduct for sustainability and responsibility in tourist guiding
  • Proposed and implemented full curriculum for training of tourist guides at the Vocational School for Hospitality and Tourism Bled, Slovenia
  • Training of tourist guides in the region Julian Alps
  • Leading partner of the Green microphone first global award for tour guides who are promoting and supporting sustainable tourism
  • Co-organizing Annual regional meeting of tourist guides with educational value in years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 in Ljubljana. Event was co-organized by Slovenian National Conference and exhibition centre.
  • Organizing international seminar for tourist guides in Ljubljana, Slovenia with title The role of tourist guides in times of creative tourism, cultural exchanges and sharing economy. I was one of key-note speakers, presenting the role of tourist guide as a mediator between cultures; interpret of cultural differences and ambassador of sustainable tourism development.
  • The G-Guides contribution to sustainable tourism development has been recognized and supported by UNWTO as they have published our work and initiative on their web page Tourism4development.org
  • Published the article with title Role of tourist guide in development of the destination, where I have pointed out different roles of tourist guides and how they can influence the way tourists behave.
  • Organizing annual event in Slovenia on 21st of February to celebrate World tourist guide day for 5 years in the row
  • Organizing special events on 27th of September to celebrate World tourism day for 3 years in the row
  • Organizing occasional events about and with tourist guides to promote our profession in public
  • Presentation about the role and possible future contributions of tourist guides to sustainable tourism in WTM Responsible tourism day in London 2016
